GALLERI Gemla presents FORMSTARK – an exhibition on design and designers.
On the importance of design for the user, brand and their surroundings.
Take part of stories about designers and meet a selection of objects from the world of Gemla.
How is it that Gemla, a more than 160-year old small-scale furniture factory, with solid bentwood as its signature, still persists and continues to grow to this day? The short answer is FORMSTARK. FORMSTARK is about furniture. Particularly seating furniture – chairs, simply. Useful, durable and beautiful chairs. The long answer is meticulous production, artisanal down to the smallest detail, where hand and thought are in collaboration. Something that Gemla has attested for more than 160 years, and with the greatest certainty for the next 160 years.
FORMSTARK is curated by Synnöve Mork.
Texts for the exhibition are written by Svante Öquist and Dan Gordan.
Additional opening hours during Stockholm Design Week (4/2 – 9/2)
